The Other side of the yuletide season
Christmas in Nigeria was some what different this Year though. It's no doubt that at this time of the year, Nigerians experience fuel scarcity, prices of goods and services are hiked, exploitation is at its extreme. However, this year's appalling.
Each day we woke up to see long queue at the fuel station. Sometimes I wondered what the holiday was going to look like. A lot of people had saved so much for this season only to be frustrated by the scarcity of fuel.
The Federal Government had however emphasized the fact that there is no scarcity of fuel and the Department of Petroleum Resource had taken step to ensure the availability of petroleum product to consumers.
This which leaves us with a bitter truth which is our reality. The few rich robbing the poor, taking advantage of the excitement of the season to hike fuel prices. We have had to pay over double of the regular Amount for transportation, for goods, and for services.
It looks like fuel scarcity also affected the government agencies including LAWMA. I captured this picture below somewhere around Egbeda, Lagos.
Right now, I do not know who to appeal to. I am more angry than relaxed right now. But the good news is that the Department of Petroleum Resources has provided us with numbers below to contact in case any filling station decides to hoard fuel or sell above #145.

One of my favorite part of this season is the fact that there as so much concerts to keep you thrilled and a lot of networking. Some of the concerts are free while rest are quite affordable ranging from #1500, #5k(shikini money) to #25k, #250k, depending on your pocket- Abeg no borrow money take attend o, if you no get money dey ur house watch TV-
3. Amazing places- Lagos also called Lasgidi has got a lot of amazing places to sight see. Come see canoe and boat on our street, a gigantic fish along Epe-express way, just to mention a few.
4. The beach- A friend once told me he has never been to the beach before. So this an opportunity to visit the beach. Experience the high current and waves live. Come 28th December, I will be live at Elegushi.
Even though out beach does not look like what we have above
5. The Lagos factor-
The Lagos factor is something need you come witness and experience at least once in a lifetime. Every one seems to be in a hurry; to catch a bus, to eat, to get somewhere etal. The moment you hear 'Oloshi' it means someone has just delayed... Lol
6.And finally, everyone is happy- at end of your visit, the retailers are happy, the fuel attendants are happy, every one you paid a fee is happy; above all, you are happy because you have just had an experience you cannot have had any where except in lasgidi

OMG
is he snoring in my office or am i dreaming. i feel like am just going to wake him up with BIG slap at his back. And then comes the other me: be nice, he might just be having a bad day and needs somewhere to nest"
and then it gets worse. i feel like giving him what our Nigerian mothers call ABARA in yoruba language.
On a second thought, one of the things you learn while growing up is hospitality, and they never forget to tell us that it come with a price. i guess i'll have to excuse him.
Now this is me being hospitable. I am not always nice though

Unemployable Graduates
The issue of 'unemployable graduates' is rampant in Nigeria these days. everyone is talking about how unemployable Nigerian graduates are. The employers of Labour, the teachers, the lecturers, the government. the question then is who is responsible for the unemployability of our graduates; who is to blame.
If the Government, teachers and lecturers keep reiterating the fact that we are unemployable, i say they have failed us. If the youths and young graduates as well are saying that Nigerian graduates are unemployable-Abeg help me ask them, who come form part of the population of unemployable graduates. it is time to stand up for what is right and stop the blame game.
Anyway as a Nigerian girl, we will always pull through; we are seeds and we do not remain in the soil when we get buried; we grow and we'll keep growing.

Experience concert 2017
As a Nigerian girl, one of the events I look forward to at the end of the year is the experience concert. It pulls together a crowd of over 500, 000. This figure varies yearly, as the event gets bigger every year. As usual, I did not get seat which means I stood and loitered the entire night. (couldn't feel my legs after the concert)
This year's concert was as usual spectacular, awesome; starting with the praise session of the choir, to Micah Stampley, Midnight Crew, Travis Greene (my crush) , Donnie McClurkin, Chioma Jesus, Tope Alabi, Nathaniel Bassey, the spectacular BeeJay Sax.There was also the comedy aspect as usual by Akpororo, Mc Abbey and Chigurl, including Kenny Black.
However the fun in the air, for some others it was not fun. Gadgets, and valuables were stolen, some others being whipped by the uniformed men for certain unruly behaviours and so on. Consequently it was not fun for everyone.
The following tips could give you a better experience at the yearly concert:
1. Arrived at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) at least 2hrs before the concert commences, this allows you find a space to sit and have a nap if necessary.
2. Avoid unnecessarily crowded spots, you might get pickpocketted.
3. Do not carry things you might not need for the next 5hours, a small bag is advisable, which would contain your phone and money.
4. Keep all expensive gadgets at home to avoid a bitter experience.
5. Come along with a phone or digital Camera for selfies, wefies, and bothies.
6. Come with less cash, at least enough to hit you some midnight snack.
7. Eat moderately to avoid feeling uncomfortable.
8. Avoid getting into a fight, you might just receive a whip or be taken into custody by the uniformed men.
9. I should include this- avoid stealing from anyone no matter how tempted you are to.
10. Above all, if you are lucky to find a seat, share with someone, it helps secure the seat than just only you fighting to keep it. Remember, Two heads are better than one.
I hope you find this tips helpful to give you a better Experience in 2018 ...oh la la, I can't wait....

My awkward trip back home
I sat still in his car while he drove. For 30 minutes, there was perfect silence, no one said anything, (pretty unlike me) you could hear the drop of a pin. He was a married man, helping me close to my house.
As a Nigerian girl, there is the psychology that that unnecessary conversation builds unnecessary familiarity more so when engaging in a discussion with a married man.
However that should not stall the possibility of a good or healthy conversation. I asked myself what we are going to talk about. I didn't want to discuss his life marriage, women and attitude or anything close etal. I guess it was more difficult because he was a married man.
I strongly believe in healthy conversations irrespective of the sex. Opposite sex should have healthy discussions with without the fear of anyone flirting. Every discussion doesn't have to lead to sex or a date. Trust me there is a lot to learn from each other. A married man once thought me the essence of positive words and positivity towards our husbands as well as The place of sex. Trust me no flirting anyway. I enjoy a close relationship with with my dad so I don't think it should be difficult to engage in healthy conversation irrespective of religion, status, class etc. The paramount intent should be to build relations, network, minds and intellect without the intent of flirting
The following tip could be helpful:
1. try not to talk about his marriage, unless you are looking for trouble or something else and If he raises the topic, maintain a neutral position.
2. Talk about anything but his wife, Except he is planning a special surprise for her and he needs your help. Trust me you do not want to be the topic of a discussion between husband and wife.
3. You could talk about your dreams, at least he knows you have got a future and you are serious minded
4. Talk football, sport, politics- it shows you are informed and intelligent.
5. If you have got nothing at to talk about, talk about Nigeria's problem, Nigeria has got a lot of problem you cannot exhaust in a single discussion.
